Drama Queen (Act I)

It was a bright sunny morning
Auditions for the queen had begun
There weren’t many that day I went
May be I was the destined one

I was seated on this bench outside
With a few other fairies around
They all seemed quite nervous
As HE walked with his harem to the hall

He stopped near me and stared for a while
He said not to worry at all
He said it was the first time around
And gave me all the courage I wanted

I felt so touched and moved
Felt that he cared so much
I had so much respect for him
Coz I thought he favoured me from all

Suddenly I was trapped in this bubble
Filled with water and blood
I was not sure where I was
But I knew they were driving so fast

I think I heard voices
This lady screaming so loud
Now wasn’t that a warm welcome
The smiles just said it all

As the doors and curtains opened
And they all stared at me at once
I wondered why they hugged that lady
When I was the queen of all

I don’t think they knew who I was
Doubt they knew the queen had come
But they treated me so special
I am sure they felt the spark

That was the first night
And I can tell you it went so well
They had no clue who I really was
I must say I too did pretty well

The days just moved on and on
And more and more came to see me
I did new acts to amuse them
And I became their favorite queen

Little by little I started to get fed up
Coz my acting never stoped
Even though I liked the fame and all
I hated doing it all the time

I felt so trapped and helpless
I didn’t know how to contact him at all
I want to quit! I wanted to tell him
As I didn’t like this title at all

I started to hate this fame of mine
And these people who loved my acts
I realized they just loved the acts
And not really me at all.
