More antics from Dane-dom!!!
Sorry for the long delay, have been a bit busy. How have u all been doing? We went and watched ‘Brokeback Mountain’ yesterday. The cinema itself was nothing much but, the movie was fab!!! It was very sad but, fantastically and tastefully directed. It won 3 Oscars (including best director) it seems day before yesterday. We went with some of r SL guys and girls and our coordinators son (a Dane). The SL guys were in shock at certain points (as u can jst imagine) but, all in all they handled it pretty well.
We also went to Lubeck (an old trading town in Germany). Everything was dirt cheap there!! (In comparison to Denmark that is….not SL) So, u guys may get alot of German and possibly Swedish things rather than Danish things k? We didn’t do much sight seeing there, mostly shopping but, we did see a few things. We crossed the border on a ferry. It was so cool. The whole bus jst drives into the ferry, then we get out of the bus and go up on the deck for abt 45 mins and then come back down to the bus and drive out agn. So, cool huh? The thing is huge!!!!! It was freezing on the deck but we I’ve put all the pix onto a disc which I’ll show u all once I get back. I’ll print a few too once I’m in SL.
Hz everything going at ur end? How r the doggies and Pain? We also did some sight seeing last friday cos’ we had the day off and our coordinators son was kind enough to join us and show us around. We had looked at the maps etc., and made a tentative plan. All he had to do was lug us around cos’ we didn’t know exactly how to get from place to place. Poor guy had no idea wat he was in for. instead of being the guide, we were manipulating him into taking us here and there and everywhere. Poor guy was exhausted by the end of the night. He joined us for the movie last night too. He’s 21 and he lives on his own. We went and saw Rosenborg Castle, the Round Tower (from the top of which u can c the whole of Copenhagen). We kinda had a snow fight on top of the tower too. It was quite nice. We went and saw the Botanical Gardens and the Fredericksberg Park, and also this jewellery shop which had amazing Viking replica designs. It was lovely. I fell in love with all the rings there.
The lecturer took us skating today at the end of class. It was hilarious!!! a real comedy of errors!!! Guys were falling flat on there backs, on top of each other, some even on top of r poor lecturer who was trying in vain to teach us the basics!!! We were sitting on the side and laughing uncontrollably. Since I’d already gone once, I was a bit better. Jst like the first day, I managed to balance ok but, still haven’t got the gist of the whole moving in sync kinda thing. But, it was fun nevertheless. One guy can hardly walk cos he hurt his back and spine. Poor guy. He’s the one who landed with the lecturer on top of hin : )
We’ve organised a Indo- Sri Lanka food evening this weekend at r in-house cafe. So, it’s jst gonna be Raju representing India and the 20 of us organising it. Obviously we’ll have to help him prepare some of his dishes. The Danish ppl here will give us money to buy the provisions and we have to cook, decorate organise the music etc., We’re hoping to dress Lankan and all. Hope it goes off well. In vain akki wanted to be here for it, but she’s only coming the weekend after. It’s the only free weekend unfortunately.
Anyways, am very sleepy so will run for now. Will mail agn wen I can k? Pls give my love to Arch and Muni also k? Love u guys and miss u loads!!!
